Welcome to my website! My name is Carli (DeBusk) Whaley, and I am a native East Tennessean, living in and around the Knoxville area my entire life. I thought I was going to be a veterinarian when I grew up, until I found out after I got my first job at 14 as a vet tech, that being a veterinarian meant going home with hair in my pants daily. In pursuit of a somewhat less furry profession, I received a biochemistry degree from Maryville College and pursued my first career in Histology. Marriage, and then children, led me to take a hiatus from the time clock. While home raising my three daughters, I started Sweet Whimsy Designs as a creative outlet.
When it was time to reenter the workforce, I found myself wanting to explore other options and opportunities. At the urging of a friend, I got licensed in property and casualty insurance within a call center located in Knoxville, where I wrote insurance in 20+ states. Not one to be tied to a desk for long, I started looking to expand my horizons beyond the headset. After other real estate related venues, In 2015 I officially I entered the world of residential real estate and haven't looked back.
I love Knoxville and have a special affinity for the South Knoxville area. I love coming off I-40 into downtown and seeing the Sunsphere just ahead or looking over the Tennessee River into the city while traveling across the South Knoxville Bridge on James White Parkway and knowing that I am HOME. Watching this side of the Henley Street and Gay Street bridges and the Tennessee River grow into the quirky fun little section of the city that it is becoming has been so gratifying and I feel honored to be a part of its growth, housing and welcoming new people to the Knoxville area. I am so excited to share Knoxville with you, from the palatial homes of Farragut, to Halls Crossroads to the north, to Strawberry Plains to the East, and of course, South Knoxville, almost at the base of the Smoky Mountains. For those who aren't as in love with city living, the surrounding areas of Knoxville also have much to offer, and all have their own unique charm. Let me work with you to find your perfect lake get away in Loudon County, take advantage of the convenience and versatility of Blount County, or live on your own mountain resort in Sevier County.
